Google Rebrands Fitbit Services Under Google Health with New Logo and Premium Subscription Options

Google Health’s New Logo Signals a Shift from Fitbit Branding

Google is poised to rebrand its health and fitness services, transitioning from the Fitbit name to Google Health. This strategic move is highlighted by the unveiling of a new logo: a stylized heart rendered with a brushstroke effect. Unlike the filled designs of previous logos, this heart features negative space, offering a modern and minimalist aesthetic.

The color scheme of the new logo incorporates a gradient that seamlessly blends Google’s signature colors—predominantly blue with hints of purple, green, yellow, and red. This design choice aligns with the gradient aesthetics recently adopted across other Google products, such as the Google ‘G,’ Gemini, Home, Photos, and Maps.

The introduction of this logo coincides with the appearance of Google Health Premium in various international Google Stores. When customers add a Pixel Watch or Fitbit device to their cart, the option for a Google Health Premium subscription becomes available. Additionally, listings in global Apple App Stores have revealed the Google Health Premium brand, with pricing set at $9.99 per month or $79.99 annually, mirroring the current Fitbit Premium rates. However, it’s unclear if these prices are final.

This rebranding suggests that while the Fitbit name may continue to be used for hardware products, such as the Google Fitbit Air band, software and services are transitioning to the Google Health brand. It remains to be seen whether the Fitbit mobile app will be renamed to Google Health, but the new logo indicates a strong possibility of such a change.

This development reflects Google’s broader strategy to unify its health and fitness offerings under a cohesive brand identity, enhancing user experience and brand recognition across its ecosystem.
