Google has expanded the availability of its Gemini AI features in Chrome to Mac and PC users in the United Kingdom. This update introduces a new ‘Ask Gemini’ button, marked by a sparkle icon, located in the upper right corner of the browser.
Gemini’s integration in Chrome allows users to work across multiple tabs, facilitating the comparison and summarization of information from various websites simultaneously. Additionally, it seamlessly connects with Google services such as Calendar, YouTube, Gmail, and Maps. This integration enables tasks like jumping to specific moments in YouTube videos, scheduling meetings, or drafting emails without leaving the current webpage.
The rollout also includes Nano Banana, an AI tool that generates images from text prompts directly within the browser’s sidebar.
For users who prefer not to use these features, the ‘Ask Gemini’ button can be removed by right-clicking on it and selecting ‘Unpin.’
Initially, Gemini’s integration in Chrome was limited to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. However, in September 2025, Google expanded access to all desktop users in the United States, followed by rollouts to over 50 countries.
Looking ahead, Google plans to extend these AI features to iOS users in the UK next month.
The expansion of Gemini AI features in Chrome signifies Google’s commitment to enhancing user experience through AI integration. By providing tools that streamline tasks and improve productivity, Google is positioning Chrome as a more intelligent and user-friendly browser. Users can anticipate further enhancements as Google continues to develop and refine its AI capabilities.
