Wispr Flow, known for its AI-driven dictation applications, is preparing to introduce a new meeting notetaking feature. Recent updates to the company’s Terms of Service indicate the forthcoming addition of a notetaker capable of generating transcripts, summaries, action items, and insights from meetings.
The updated terms specify that the notetaker will process various forms of meeting data, including audio recordings, participant details, metadata, speaker labels, and transcripts. The output will encompass AI-generated content such as meeting transcripts, summaries, action items, insights, and speaker attributions.
With this development, Wispr Flow is positioning itself to compete with established meeting notetaking services like Granola, Fireflies, Read AI, Otter, and Fathom. The company’s co-founder, Tanay Kothari, has previously discussed plans to build an AI assistant, and this new feature aligns with that vision by providing users with enhanced context and automation capabilities beyond traditional dictation.
It remains unclear whether Wispr Flow’s notetaker will function similarly to Granola’s system, which relies on system audio to transcribe meetings without retaining recordings, or if it will offer a comprehensive meeting recording tool.
To date, Wispr Flow has secured over $81 million in funding, with its most recent valuation at $700 million. In May, reports suggested the company was in discussions for a new funding round that could value it at $2 billion.
As the demand for AI-powered productivity tools continues to grow, Wispr Flow’s expansion into meeting notetaking reflects a strategic move to diversify its offerings and meet the evolving needs of professionals seeking efficient and accurate documentation solutions.
