Shopify Launches Shopcast: Business Dashboard App for Apple TV

Shopify has dropped a new Apple TV app called Shopcast, transforming the tvOS platform into a full-on dashboard for business analytics and store insights. It’s built for workspaces: think office TVs, retail spaces, or team zones where data needs to be visible and actionable.

What Shopcast Offers

Shopcast shows a range of metrics like total sales, order counts, units sold, and average order value in a format designed for visibility at a distance. It includes an interactive globe view of order activity, displays top products and color trends, and lets merchants compare online traffic with Shopify POS sales. It also shows where customers are coming from and which of your locations are busiest.

Designed for Apple TV

The app is made specifically for Apple TV. You’ll navigate dashboard sections—Revenue, Overview, Products, Retail, and Geography—using the Siri Remote. Data is updated throughout the day so you can keep an eye on performance in roughly real time. It supports both light and dark modes, and lets you switch between connected shops while keeping each shop’s data separate. Note: managing products, orders, or settings still needs to be done in Shopify itself.

To use Shopcast, you need an existing Shopify store, authorized access to it, and an internet connection. The app is available now in English.

This app is downloadable via the Apple TV App Store and runs on Apple TV hardware. It doesn’t expand Shopify’s feature set—no order editing or store management directly from the Apple TV—but it’s clearly intended to make visibility and status tracking more immediate and collective.

This move fits into a broader trend: businesses looking for screen-based dashboards to highlight key metrics in shared spaces. We’ve seen other tools do this—some standalone, some tied into BI platforms—but few are right out of the box for tvOS devices.

What this means: For Shopify merchants, Shopcast adds a visual layer to store monitoring. Rather than toggling through phones or computers, teams can glance at the TV and get updates. It’s smart positioning for Shopify, too—it takes advantage of Apple’s hardware ecosystem and makes data more accessible to all, not just those logged into dashboards.
