Plaud One Earbuds Add eSIM Case to Power AI Agent Chats Hands-Free

Plaud has unveiled its latest wearable: Plaud One, a pair of earbuds equipped with an eSIM-enabled charging case that lets users trigger its AI agents even when away from a phone or computer. This marks Plaud’s first move into the pure “earbuds plus AI assistant” format, aimed at simplifying conversations across meetings, calls, and even casual interactions.

Earbuds with built-in AI note taking and smart follow-ups

Plaud One delivers active noise cancellation and 12 mm drivers. On their own, the earbuds handle call recordings for up to three hours, and in-person interactions captured by the earbuds last up to six hours on a charge. When paired with the case, you can record conversations for as long as 25 hours before needing to top up.

Once captured, the audio is transcribed, and Plaud’s AI agent can tie into tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack to automate follow-ups—drafting emails, summarizing meetings, or even building documents or presentations based on the content of conversations.

What sets it apart: the eSIM case

The standout feature is the charging case’s built-in eSIM, which allows users to invoke the AI agent remotely without tethering to a phone or computer. The case itself can record voices clearly up to five meters away—ideal for in-room discussions where carrying or wearing earbuds through the whole meeting would be impractical.

Plaud One includes a subscription model: 300 minutes of free transcription monthly, then plans starting at about $8.33/month when billed annually. Early buyers also gain $200 worth of credits for agent tasks, which are expected to expand in capabilities in upcoming updates.

Market positioning, competition, and pricing

Plaud already claims over 2.5 million users across its hardware and software ecosystem. The company emphasizes its software and AI pipeline rather than just hardware to distinguish itself in a growing field, which includes rivals like Viaim, Anker, Pocket, and others all pushing into AI-powered voice recording or note taking.

Plaud One is currently available for preorder at $249, with shipping planned for Q4 2026. The initial rollout is limited, suggesting the company is gauging demand for this hybrid earbuds-plus-agent form factor.

Building on its current revenue milestone—cited around a $100 million annual run rate—Plaud is betting this “always-on, voice-ready” interface can push wearables into more natural integration with everyday workflows. That said, convincing users to move away from AirPods, Galaxy Buds, Pixel Buds or other earbuds that already pair with existing apps remains a steep challenge.

What this means

Plaud One represents a shift in wearables: moving from smartphones as AI hubs toward devices that can operate independently thanks to embedded connectivity. The eSIM case isn’t just about mobile data—it opens the possibility for devices to handle voice capture, transcription, and even agentic tasks without any nearby companion hardware.

Analytical angle: What really makes this release significant isn’t the earbuds or the AI agent alone—it’s combining the two with built-in connectivity so users can engage the AI from anywhere. As more companies chase AI in audio with different form factors—rings, pendants, smart badges—Plaud’s approach could be seen as a blueprint for the next wave of voice-first hardware: devices that blend seamless input, AI-driven workflows, and freedom from constant smartphone dependency. The key to success will likely lie in how polished the agentic features are, how well the case performs in real environments, and whether the convenience outweighs the inertia people have toward their current earbuds.
