The latest update seeks to address these issues by enhancing the app’s ability to display live feeds from a wider array of camera manufacturers, thereby improving the overall user experience.
In addition to expanded camera support, the update introduces several new features designed to enhance usability. A notable addition is the ‘Save Clip’ shortcut, which simplifies the process of downloading event recordings. Users can now tap the three-dot menu next to any recording in their event list to save it instantly. For those seeking custom clip lengths, the menu button during playback or timeline scrolling offers further customization options.
Subscribers to Google Home Premium Advanced will benefit from AI-generated event summaries, providing concise descriptions of events directly within the full-screen camera view. This feature enables users to quickly understand what transpired without reviewing entire recordings.
Other improvements include smarter camera view defaults, where the main camera view now opens directly to the timeline or event list, allowing users to access important moments more efficiently. Additionally, rotating a phone sideways while watching a live feed or recording in portrait mode will automatically switch to full-screen view, enhancing the viewing experience.
