Google is enhancing its AI Mode with new travel tools aimed at simplifying flight and hotel planning. Among the upgrades are built-in flight price alerts, the ability to view costs in miles or points, and more robust hotel booking options. The rollout is beginning globally with country- and partner-specific support.
Flight Price Alerts & Itineraries
The first major update adds Google Flights’ price tracking directly into AI Mode. Users can now describe travel plans—destination, dates—and see available flights and fares sourced from over 300 partner airlines and travel sites. Should users desire to proceed, they can build a full itinerary within AI Mode and make purchases via airline websites or preferred booking platforms.
For those not ready to buy, there’s a “track these flight prices for me” option. After confirming route, schedule, and filters, the system will send price-change alerts to your email. This flight price tracking feature is now available in more than 180 countries and territories.
Miles, Points, and Hotel Bookings
Another useful feature is the ability to show flight and hotel costs in loyalty points or miles. Initially, this will work with Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, and certain hotel chains like Hilton and Wyndham. Support for Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM, and the Lufthansa Group is expected in the coming weeks. This lets users make inquiries like “I want to travel using my AA miles with nonstop flights between certain dates,” and see up-to-date options.
The final major enhancement covers hotels. AI Mode users can now describe what they want—price range, amenities, etc.—and get back hotel options complete with guest ratings and comparison factors. With supported partners, there’s a “Continue on Google” button so you can choose room types, cancellation policies, and complete your booking, typically via Google Pay. Hotels or booking platforms will handle all customer service issues as the merchant of record.
In the U.S., the hotel booking features are now active with support from partners including Booking.com, Choice Hotels, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG, Marriott, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham.
What’s new matters: these updates mark a shift toward a more unified travel tool, blending AI conversational convenience with real-time price tracking and loyalty programs. Rather than juggling multiple sites and tabs, users can now handle flights, miles, and hotels inside one system.
