Fitbit Air Pokémon Sleep Special Edition Turns Sleep into Adventure

Google just revealed the Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep, a themed spin on the May-launched Fitbit Air, available in the US and Japan. Created to mark the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, this new edition integrates the popular sleep tracking features of Fitbit with interactive elements inspired by Pokémon Sleep. The idea is to turn every night—and daytime nap—into a journey full of rewards and cute surprises.

Design & Hardware

The Special Edition is identical in hardware to the original Fitbit Air released earlier this year. It retains the same tech specs but adds stylish, thematic flourishes. The new model comes in a “Sleepy Blue” color and features a performance loop band enhanced with a silk print label of a Sleeping Pikachu. It’s all about blending Pokémon charm with Fitbit’s look-and-feel.

Pokémon Sleep Integration & Gameplay

This Special Edition connects with the Pokémon Sleep app on both Android and iOS. All Pixel and Fitbit wearables that track sleep—including this one—work together via Google Health, which records sleep duration and stages. Overnight sleep and daytime naps link up with Pokémon Sleep to unlock “interactive rewards.” These include:

  • Gathering Pokémon with similar sleep types around Snorlax when you wake up.
  • Training your Sleep Style Dex by studying their sleeping styles and adding new helper Pokémon to your team.
  • Using your Sleep Score to calculate”Drowsy Power,” which boosts Snorlax’s strength by collecting Berries.
  • Unlocking rare Pokémon and unique sleep styles by increasing Drowsy Power.

The integration syncs nightly via Health Connect on Android and Apple Health on iOS, copying data each morning to fuel the Pokémon-themed rewards loop.

Price & Availability

The Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep is available for pre-order now through the Google Store and Target (in-store). Priced at $129.99, shipping kicks off on September 15.

This crossover isn’t just about Pokémon branding—it signals a broader trend toward making health and wellness more engaging. By combining sleep tracking with game mechanics like collecting creatures and leveling up, it turns what’s typically a mundane routine into something you might actually look forward to. It’ll take some polish in how rewards, style tracking, and scoring feel long-term, but the idea itself opens up new directions in wearable design. Keep an eye on how well the sleep styles, rare unlocks, and interactivity land with users—and what this means for future health-meets-gaming wearables.
