The Autonomous Key is an NFC-enabled device that pairs with a companion application to lock selected apps on a user’s smartphone. To access these locked apps, users must physically scan the key with their device, introducing a tangible barrier to impulsive app usage. Each unlocking session grants access for up to 60 minutes, after which the apps are automatically re-locked, reinforcing mindful usage habits.
One of the standout features of the Autonomous Key is its affordability. Priced at just $9, it offers a cost-effective alternative to other app-blocking solutions in the market. The device itself is compact, measuring approximately 3 inches in length, making it convenient to carry or store. It is compatible with smartphones running Android 8.0 or later and iPhones with iOS 15 or later, ensuring broad accessibility for users across different platforms.
