Automattic’s Mesh CRM Now Available on Android

Automattic has expanded its personal CRM application, Mesh, to Android devices. This move allows users to manage and visualize their personal and professional networks directly from their Android smartphones and tablets.

Mesh offers features such as adding notes to contacts and setting reminders for follow-ups. The Android version is tailored to leverage the platform’s capabilities, including split-screen and pop-up views, enabling users to interact with Mesh alongside other applications like messaging or email. Additionally, it supports keyboard shortcuts for foldable devices and tablets, in-app search functionality, home screen widgets that adapt to the device’s wallpaper colors, and real-time synchronization across multiple devices.

Looking ahead, Automattic plans to integrate Mesh more closely with Beeper, its unified messaging application that consolidates communications from platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Signal, Messenger, X, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, and Google Messages. Currently, Mesh and Beeper offer some interoperability; for instance, Mesh users can draft messages in Beeper or access Mesh user profiles via deep links. Future developments aim to incorporate AI features to enhance user productivity in managing personal relationships.

Mesh’s Nexus AI is in early access, providing users with the ability to query their network for specific information, such as identifying contacts at a particular company, locating individuals in a certain city, or finding experts in a specific field. The company is also exploring AI-driven voice-based interactions and improved business card scanning capabilities.

Privacy remains a priority for Mesh; personal data is not shared or used for advertising purposes. The app operates on a subscription model, offering free access for up to 1,000 contacts, with premium tiers available for unlimited contacts and additional features. While there is potential for bundled subscriptions with Beeper or other Automattic products in the future, no specific plans have been announced.

Currently, approximately 70% of Mesh users utilize the app for business purposes, particularly executives managing large teams or maintaining extensive networks. However, the application is designed to be equally beneficial for personal use, ensuring that features cater to both professional and individual needs.

Mesh, formerly known as Clay, is now available for download on the Google Play Store for Android phones, tablets, and foldable devices, offering in-app purchases for enhanced functionality.

The expansion of Mesh to Android signifies Automattic’s commitment to providing versatile tools for relationship management across diverse platforms. As the integration with Beeper progresses and AI features are further developed, users can anticipate a more cohesive and intelligent approach to managing their networks.
