Apple has officially rolled out a revamped Apple TV 4K and refreshed Siri Remote, packed with a total of 14 new enhancements that aim to deliver stronger performance, smarter home integration, and even better controller usability.
What’s New in the Updated Apple TV 4K
The flagship Apple TV 4K now runs on Apple’s latest A19 chip. Compared to the previous A15-powered model, this upgrade promises up to 50% better CPU speeds and double the graphical performance. Memory has doubled—or likely doubled—with the new unit apparently bringing 8GB of RAM, compared to 4GB before. While full confirmation is pending, it suggests a substantial power boost. The device also adds Siri AI support that leverages Apple Intelligence, though for personal-context queries you’ll need a modern iPhone or iPad. Previous generation Apple TV 4K units from 2021 and 2022 will also gain access to Siri AI under tvOS 27.2 and later.
Hands-free voice control gets a serious push with three built-in far-field microphones, so Siri AI can respond without needing the remote. In addition, the new model supports surround sound when used with four HomePods—this could mean a setup of four HomePod minis, or a combination of full-size HomePods paired with minis. Older Apple TVs have been restricted to just two speakers.
Connectivity is also upgraded: the device now offers Wi-Fi 7 and the new Bluetooth 6, raising the bar over the previous Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 standards. It adds support for AV1 and VP9 video formats, expands storage to a single 128GB configuration (eliminating the 64GB/Wi-Fi-only option), repositions the white status light to the center of the front edge, and—even though it’s barely noticeable—is about 1% heavier than its predecessor.
What’s New with the Siri Remote
The new Siri Remote includes Find My and Precision Finding support, so you can track it down more accurately. That functionality requires an iPhone 17 or newer (excluding iPhone 17e), or either the iPhone Air or iPhone Duo. Built-in speaker support means the remote itself can emit sounds to help you locate it when misplaced. And yes—between all the new features—it’s about 6% heavier than the old remote.
Pricing and Availability
Both the Apple TV 4K and the new Siri Remote are now available for pre-order. They officially ship on Friday, November 13. The new Apple TV 4K, bundled with the new remote, will cost $299 in the U.S., while the updated Siri Remote is offered separately for $59. The remote is compatible with nearly all Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD models released since 2015.
The move marks Apple’s biggest refresh for the Apple TV ecosystem in years. The upgraded hardware, particularly the A19 chip, boosted RAM, next-gen wireless standards, and surround sound via four HomePods, positions this model as a stronger hub for home entertainment. Meanwhile, the remote’s improvements address long-standing complaints around losing it or needing better tracking.
Analysis: These upgrades reflect Apple’s broader strategy to make the Apple TV a central node in the smart home universe—one that’s not just streaming content but also listening, tracking, and integrating tightly with other Apple-branded devices. For users, the key trade-offs will be whether the typical living room setup justifies investing in four HomePods or newer iPhones for full Siri AI features. Still, by doubling down on performance and usability, this launch shrinks the gap between streaming box and full-featured home hub. Keep an eye on how tvOS 27.2 handles Siri AI on older models, and whether Wi-Fi 7 adoption gains enough traction to matter beyond novelty.
