Slate Auto, the electric vehicle startup backed by Jeff Bezos, has announced a collaboration with Crayola to offer a new range of vehicle wraps for its customizable electric truck. This partnership introduces five signature Crayola colors—Cerulean, Fern, Jersey Tomato, Razzmatazz, and Dandelion—allowing owners to personalize their vehicles with vibrant hues.
These Crayola-inspired wraps are priced at $1,549.99 each. Customers who opt for these wraps will also receive a matching Crayola key fob and a ‘Slatelet,’ a custom art piece designed to snap onto the dashboard, enhancing the vehicle’s interior aesthetics.
Vehicle wraps are central to Slate Auto’s customization strategy. These printed vinyl films can be applied to the vehicle’s exterior without the need for traditional painting, offering a cost-effective and flexible way for owners to personalize their trucks. The collaboration with Crayola adds a playful and nostalgic element to this customization process.
Anna Roca, head of global partnerships at Crayola, noted that this is the company’s first foray into the automotive industry. The partnership aligns with Crayola’s mission to inspire creativity and self-expression, extending its influence beyond traditional art supplies.
Slate Auto has been making waves in the EV market with its affordable and highly customizable electric truck. The base model starts at $24,950 and offers a range of 205 miles. The vehicle’s design emphasizes simplicity and adaptability, allowing owners to modify it according to their preferences. This includes the option to transform the two-seater pickup into a five-seater SUV, priced at $29,950.
Since emerging from stealth mode in April 2025, Slate Auto has garnered significant attention. The company has secured substantial funding and has received over 150,000 refundable reservations for its vehicles, indicating strong market interest.
By partnering with Crayola, Slate Auto is tapping into a brand synonymous with creativity and color. This collaboration not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of its vehicles but also reinforces the company’s commitment to offering personalized and affordable electric transportation solutions.
As the EV market continues to evolve, partnerships like this highlight the importance of customization and brand collaboration in appealing to a diverse consumer base. Slate Auto’s approach could set a precedent for other manufacturers looking to differentiate their offerings in a competitive landscape.
