Within the macOS 26.7 RC, references to an unannounced Apple TV remote, labeled as ‘ATVRemote1,5,’ have been identified. This discovery aligns with earlier reports indicating that the next Apple TV iteration might include a revised remote control.
Historically, the Siri Remote has undergone several transformations. The first generation, introduced in 2015, featured a touchpad and motion sensors, enabling users to navigate and interact with content seamlessly. In 2021, Apple unveiled a redesigned second-generation Siri Remote, incorporating a circular touch-enabled click pad reminiscent of the iPod click wheel, along with additional buttons for enhanced functionality.
