Fans of Apple’s newest MacBook Pro model now have access to its striking default wallpaper—made available early thanks to designer Basic Apple Guy. The visual, crafted for the MacBook Pro’s PROLED XDR display, has been recreated using Apple’s 3D model assets and optimized for high-resolution desktop use.
How the Wallpaper Was Created
The designer started with the official 3D assets released by Apple, then carefully upscaled and resized the imagery. The end result: the wallpaper looks ready for Retina displays on the 16-inch MacBook Pro and also tailored to fit the Mac Studio Display.
What You’ll Get
Downloading this artwork gives owners the same wallpaper that ships with the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display. With optimized versions for different screen types, you can expect sharp visuals whether using a laptop or a standalone monitor.
If you want more from the designer, Basic Apple Guy has a strong portfolio. It includes detailed depictions of phone internals, stylized event visuals, topographic themes inspired by Apple Park, and more. Support via one-time tips or a recurring membership is available for patrons.
This wallpaper isn’t the final version Apple may officially release—it’s an interim solution while the official files are not yet available. But for a high-quality placeholder, it’s arguably the next best thing.
Takeaway: For now, this wallpaper offers a way to get the new MacBook Pro’s PROLED XDR look on your screen. And when Apple ships the official version, it’ll be interesting to compare details like color fidelity and resolution. In the meantime, this gives early adopters a chance to match their displays with the newest Apple aesthetic.
