Spotify Launches ‘Reserved’ Ticket Access for Superfans in the U.S.

Spotify has introduced ‘Reserved,’ a new feature for its Premium subscribers in the United States, offering early access to concert tickets for dedicated fans. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Live Nation and powered by Ticketmaster, aims to reward users who consistently engage with their favorite artists on the platform.

Eligibility for ‘Reserved’ is determined by various user activities, including streaming frequency, song saves, and shares, as well as the user’s location to ensure offers are relevant. Spotify has chosen to keep specific criteria confidential to prevent manipulation of the system.

When eligible, users will receive notifications through multiple channels within the Spotify app, such as the Home screen, Search, artist pages, the ‘Your Live Events’ feed, and the Now Playing view. Additionally, Spotify will send emails and push notifications to ensure fans are informed about their exclusive ticket access.

The ‘Reserved’ feature allows fans to purchase up to two tickets for any date on an artist’s tour, not limited to the nearest venue. The purchasing window typically lasts around 24 hours, but fans are encouraged to act promptly to secure their preferred dates and seats.

Role Model is the first artist to participate in the ‘Reserved’ program, with more artists expected to join in the future. This feature underscores Spotify’s commitment to enhancing the fan experience by bridging the gap between digital music consumption and live events.

By integrating concert ticket access directly into its platform, Spotify not only strengthens the connection between artists and their most loyal listeners but also positions itself as a comprehensive hub for music engagement. This move could set a new standard in the industry, prompting other streaming services to explore similar integrations.
