Samsung has officially incorporated silicon-carbon battery technology into its latest foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8. This advancement allows for higher-capacity batteries within the same physical dimensions, enhancing device performance and longevity.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 now features a 4,800 mAh battery, an increase from the 4,400 mAh battery in its predecessor, the Fold 7, despite a more compact design. Similarly, the Z Fold 8 Ultra boasts a 5,000 mAh battery while maintaining a thinner profile than the Fold 7. These improvements are attributed to the adoption of silicon-carbon batteries.
In addition to battery enhancements, Samsung has upgraded charging capabilities across these devices. Both the Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra support faster 45W wired charging and 20W wireless charging, reducing downtime and improving user convenience.
