Outmarket Lands $34.5M Series B, Just Months After Series A

Outmarket, a fast-growing insuretech startup, has raised $34.5 million in a Series B round just four months after closing a $17 million Series A. This funding round was led by SignalFire, with participation from Fika Ventures, Permanent Capital Ventures, TTV Capital, and Dash Fund. The fresh capital values the company at $355 million. (Sept. 28, 2026)

Founded in late 2023 by Vishal Sankhala, who previously led product at Ethos and held engineering roles at Facebook and Uber, Outmarket deploys AI tools to modernize the heavily manual workflows that dominate commercial insurance. It targets the complex commercial line, where policies must be customized for risks like liability, workers’ comp, and D&O coverage. Sankhala points out that over 250 coverage types exist, each with different forms and documentation, making the application process cumbersome for brokers and agents.

AI to streamline agency & broker operations

Outmarket’s platform automates tasks such as policy form filling, document review, and policy recommendation—letting insurance agencies, including giant brokerages, move past tedious administrative burdens. The startup claims over 300 agencies are using its tools, and notably, one-quarter of the top 100 agencies have become clients since the launch of a core product 14 months ago. Sankhala describes this adoption as rapid within an industry historically resistant to fast change.

Market opportunity & competitive landscape

The U.S. property and casualty insurance industry alone accounts for over one trillion dollars in annual premiums. Outmarket aims to scale across this massive market by enhancing workflow efficiency for brokerages, enabling them to avoid manual overhead and refocus on customer‐facing or high-impact work. Investors seem to believe in this vision.

But Outmarket isn’t alone. Other startups like Fulcrum AI and Further AI are also building AI operating layers aimed at helping brokers modernize. The differentiator for Outmarket comes down to its deep focus on commercial lines, its fast agency adoption, and its ability to automate frequently overlooked back-end complexity that often frustrates brokers.

The $34.5 million Series B boosts Outmarket’s cash runway and signals strong investor confidence less than half a year after its prior funding round. The company intends to use the infusion to expand product development, accelerate customer acquisition, and deepen its AI capabilities in underwriting support and policy configuration.

What this means: As AI reshapes insurance, the friction in commercial brokerage—complex application forms, intricate risk profiles, tailored coverages—offers a large opening. Outmarket’s early traction plus sizable valuation suggest investors are waking up to that opportunity. Watch for how well it scales, handles regulatory constraints, and differentiates vs. rising competition.
