Apple’s upcoming iOS 27 introduces a redesigned Siri interface that integrates seamlessly with the Dynamic Island on current iPhone models. This new design presents Siri as a glowing, pill-shaped orb that expands from the Dynamic Island, effectively concealing the hardware cutouts beneath.
Traditionally, Siri has been represented by a circular icon across various Apple devices, including the iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro. The shift to a pill-shaped design on the iPhone appears to be a response to the current dimensions of the Dynamic Island hardware.
Recent reports suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will feature a narrower Dynamic Island, achieved by relocating Face ID components beneath the display. This modification could allow the Siri interface to adopt a circular shape, aligning with its representation on other Apple devices.
Leaker Ice Universe has indicated that the Dynamic Island’s width may decrease by approximately 35%, from around 20.7mm to 13.5mm. Prototype images and screen protector leaks from March support this potential change.
Both iOS 27 and the iPhone 18 Pro models are anticipated to launch this fall. If these design changes materialize, they could enhance the visual consistency of Siri’s interface across Apple’s product lineup.
Aligning Siri’s interface design across devices would not only provide a more cohesive user experience but also reflect Apple’s commitment to seamless integration within its ecosystem. This potential update underscores the company’s ongoing efforts to refine both hardware and software elements in tandem.
