iOS 27 Beta 3 Introduces Siri AI Voice Customization

Apple has released the third developer beta of iOS 27, introducing new customization options for Siri’s AI voice, along with several visual enhancements. This update arrives two weeks after the second beta, which focused on improvements to the Apple Home and Wallet apps.

A significant addition in this beta is the ability for users to adjust Siri’s voice characteristics. Devices equipped with the A19 Pro chip, such as the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, can now modify Siri’s speech pace and expressiveness through dedicated sliders in the Settings app. This feature requires a minimum of 12GB of RAM, limiting its availability to higher-end models.

In addition to voice customization, Siri’s interface has been refined. The Siri bubble now features a subtle glow effect, enhancing visual feedback during interactions. The Settings app has also updated the “Indexing” message to “Optimizing Search and Siri,” reflecting ongoing improvements in system optimization.

Other notable changes include a notification in the Camera app indicating that Siri Mode necessitates Siri AI, and a redesigned Reminders app icon now displaying bullet points with darker centers. These updates contribute to a more cohesive and user-friendly experience.

For macOS users, the third beta of macOS 27 introduces a new wallpaper showcasing California’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge, adding a fresh visual element to the desktop environment.

While this beta release focuses on incremental enhancements, the introduction of Siri voice customization marks a significant step toward a more personalized user experience. As Apple continues to refine its AI capabilities, users can anticipate further innovations that cater to individual preferences and improve overall interaction with their devices.
