Apple’s upcoming smart home hub, tentatively called HomePad, is expected to launch on October 13 with four color choices: Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Rose Pink. Images from a recent leak reportedly reveal these finishes in the device’s setup screens. What’s more, HomePad will feature a “Photo Face” setup that adapts its preview art to match the device color.
This isn’t the first time details about HomePad’s design have been found in leaked images. A leaker known as pdfu recently showed screenshots of new features associated with the iPhone Duo—features believed to apply to HomePad as well. In this follow-up, the images show how setup screens incorporate hardware colors into their visuals.
Color finishes and design cues
The four finishes reportedly available at launch are Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Rose Pink. As seen in the leak, the setup process uses a “Photo Face” mode that adjusts the interface art to align with the device’s housing color, offering a coherent aesthetic from physical design to UI. The housing color is reflected both in the preview art and elsewhere in setup screens.
The leaked screenshots also portray a square form factor for the HomePad. The design appears to lean heavily into Apple’s aesthetic for its recent devices, merging hardware and software more closely by showing the hardware color during setup—much like what has been seen in Apple’s wearables.

HomePad is slated for an October 13 launch.
