Google Wallet has introduced a new feature that enables users to track their online orders directly within the app. By integrating with Gmail, the app can now extract detailed receipts, tracking numbers, and shipping statuses from users’ emails.
On the app’s homepage, users will find a section titled “orders that are arriving soon,” displayed alongside their existing passes. For a comprehensive view, tapping the “View more” button reveals all orders, with those arriving today or currently in transit highlighted at the top. Additionally, users can access their online orders by navigating to View more transactions > Orders.
Upon selecting a specific order, Google Wallet presents detailed package tracking information. If users wish to remove an order from the app, they can do so by tapping the trash icon on the order’s page.
This order tracking functionality is also accessible via the Google Wallet website. Users can visit wallet.google.com and navigate to the Transactions tab, then select Orders to view their online purchases.
To activate this feature, users must ensure that the “Smart features in other Google products” setting is enabled within their Gmail account. This setting can be found by going to Gmail > Settings > selecting the relevant email account > Google Workspace smart features > Smart features in other Google products.
Currently, this feature is available to users in the United States and supports a wide range of major U.S. merchants. However, orders from smaller or international merchants may not appear in Google Wallet.
Integrating order tracking into Google Wallet enhances the app’s functionality, transforming it into a more comprehensive dashboard for managing both payments and purchases. This development reflects Google’s ongoing efforts to streamline user experiences by consolidating essential services into a single platform.
