After a period of beta testing that began in August 2025, Google has officially launched a redesigned version of Google Finance, now accompanied by a dedicated Android application. This overhaul introduces advanced AI capabilities aimed at enhancing user experience in financial tracking and analysis.
The revamped Google Finance integrates Gemini models, enabling users to inquire about stocks and conduct in-depth research. The platform now offers advanced charting tools and real-time data, providing a comprehensive view of market trends and individual stock performance.
A significant addition is the global rollout of the Portfolios feature. This allows users to consolidate all their investments into a single dashboard, offering insights into performance data and asset allocation. Users can create portfolios by uploading files such as PDFs and CSVs detailing their holdings, streamlining the process of portfolio management.
Furthermore, Google Finance introduces a conversational AI research tool. Users can request custom briefings by posing questions like, “What sectors are currently underrepresented in my portfolio?” or “How does my fixed income allocation impact my long-term growth potential?” This feature aims to provide personalized insights tailored to individual investment strategies.
Another notable feature is the ability to receive daily pre-market briefings analyzing significant overnight movements across major cryptocurrencies. These briefings are delivered via notifications through the Google app on both Android and iOS platforms, ensuring users stay informed about market developments.
The launch also marks the return of the Google Finance app to Android devices, following its removal in 2015. The new app offers access to watchlists, real-time data with AI-powered explanations for stock movements, live financial news feeds, and the AI research tool.
