With the release of the Pixel 11, Google has introduced refreshed icons for several of its core applications, aligning them with the company’s latest design principles.
Pixel Camera
The Pixel Camera app now features a redesigned icon that maintains its DSLR-inspired appearance. The new design includes a rectangular body with a corner flash and a centered viewfinder. Additionally, the color scheme has been updated to a gradient of Pixel blue, symbolizing the integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence in the camera’s functionality. This icon update coincides with significant enhancements to the in-app viewfinder.
Pixel Weather
The Pixel Weather app has transitioned from a blue background, which previously represented the sky, to a minimalist plain backdrop. This change simplifies the icon’s appearance, though the app’s functionality remains unchanged.
Pixel Recorder
The Pixel Recorder app’s icon has been updated by removing its background color and introducing a stylized red waveform. This design is less detailed than its predecessor, offering a more streamlined visual representation.
Google Calculator
The Google Calculator app has also undergone a redesign. The new icon eliminates the background, placing the minus, multiplication, plus, and equals symbols within green circles of varying shades. This design choice enhances clarity and modernizes the app’s visual identity.
Google Clock
The Google Clock app’s icon has been revamped to fully embrace the Material 3 Expressive design language. The updated design mirrors the aesthetic introduced on Wear OS, providing a cohesive look across platforms.
