Google’s lineup of Nest smart home devices has become one of the strongest gift strategies this season, especially with the Best Buy deals currently running. From thermostats to doorbells, there’s something for every kind of user—whether you’re setting up a first smart home or expanding an existing network.
Top Google Smart Home Gifts for Every Need
A great starting point is the Google Home Speaker with Gemini built in. It has a 360-degree sound profile and serves both as a high-quality speaker and as a smart assistant hub. That means room-filling sound plus centralized control for all smart devices in the home. The device is currently discounted to $79.99 from its regular price, and it comes in a variety of colors—Berry, Jade, Porcelain, Hazel—so it’s both stylish and functional.
If heating and cooling are priorities, the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) is designed to learn your schedule and preferences over time, helping reduce energy costs. This edition works with most HVAC setups and is down from $279 to $219 at Best Buy. There’s also the standard Nest Thermostat, which trades off some features for a more affordable price while still being efficient and smart‐home ready.
For home security, Nest Cam and Nest Doorbell options are good picks. The Nest Doorbell is available in both wired and battery models, with the wired option better suited for continuous recording. A standout is the Nest Cam with Floodlight, which offers both illumination and deterrence—solid choices where safety matters. Right now Best Buy is bundling some of these devices with the Learning Thermostat, knocking $100 off when bought together.
Building an Ecosystem That Works
One smart device is useful, but multiple devices interacting make the Google Home ecosystem powerful. Adding a few foundational pieces—like a speaker, thermostat, and camera—unlocks functionality like smart alerts, richer notifications, and centralized control through the Google Home app. The more interconnected the setup, the more useful it becomes.
Best Buy’s current sales make this a strong moment to gift these products. In addition to individual price drops and color options on the Home Speaker, bundles offer real value for anyone ready to go beyond a single device. As Black Friday approaches, keep an eye out—new deals are likely to emerge across Google’s smart-home range.
As smart home technology grows more accessible, gifts matter beyond novelty—they’re about convenience, safety, and connectivity. Google Nest gear delivers on those fronts: audible presence, temperature control, security coverage. If you’re choosing gifts this season, go for devices that grow with users. Look for systems that can be built out—because once the ecosystem’s in place, smart home experiences really begin.
