Belkin has introduced a new set of magnetic Qi2 power banks at IFA 2026, dubbed the UltraCharge Pro line. These devices rely on Belkin’s new “BoostSolid” solid-state battery technology, which uses gel layers internally to offer improved longevity and performance over traditional magnetic wireless chargers. The batteries come in two capacities—5,000mAh and 10,000mAh—and support up to 15W wireless charging alongside higher wired charging on the larger model.
Solid-State Chemistry Promises Greater Longevity
The standout feature of the UltraCharge Pro models is the BoostSolid technology. Belkin claims these batteries are designed to maintain 80% of their original capacity even after 1,000 full charge-discharge cycles—a metric that works out to roughly five years of regular use if charging every other day. This lifespan is said to be up to three times longer than many current magnetic power banks.
Traditionally, magnetic wireless power banks—devices that attach to the backs of phones using Qi2 magnetic alignment—have struggled to deliver both high wattage and long lifespans. Though the Qi2 standard is relatively new, many magnetic chargers fail to reach 15W. Belkin’s UltraCharge Pro batteries are certified for full 15W wireless output in both capacity variants.
Two Models: Slim 5,000mAh vs. 10,000mAh with Display
The UltraCharge Pro comes in two distinct versions. The Slim 5K model is compact and lightweight, aiming for portability while still providing magnetic 15W wireless charging. The 10K version, besides offering twice the battery capacity, adds a built-in display that shows real-time power bank status and alerts, useful for users who want more feedback.
In addition to wireless charging features, the 10,000mAh UltraCharge Pro offers substantial wired charging capability—up to 60W via a single port. This makes it capable of fast charging larger devices like tablets or portable gaming rigs under wired load, something magnetic banks often can’t manage.
The new UltraCharge Pro Slim 5K and UltraCharge Pro 10K solid-state Qi2 power banks will be on sale starting this month through Belkin’s official website and major retailers.
Analysis: The move toward solid-state battery components reflects growing demand for power banks that not only charge fast and wirelessly but also live through many charging cycles without significant capacity loss. For users who rely on magnetic battery packs, Belkin’s BoostSolid models may offer one of the best durability trade-offs seen yet. What remains to be tested in real life is how well the gel-based internal layers respond to heat, travel, and constant wireless use—a challenge magnetic banks have traditionally faced. As Qi2 adoption expands, the longevity and output characteristics of chargers like these could become major decision points.
