Apple’s latest update for the Vision Pro, visionOS 27, introduces several enhancements, yet it leaves some longstanding issues unaddressed. Notably, the update does not resolve the device’s weight and comfort concerns, which have been a point of contention among users.
Among the new features, visionOS 27 introduces Spatial Panoramas, allowing users to convert standard panoramas into immersive 3D environments. This addition enhances the device’s spatial computing capabilities, offering a more engaging user experience.
Another significant update is the introduction of Spatial Siri. Users can now interact with Siri through spatial widgets without the need for a wake word. By simply looking at the Siri widget and speaking, users can engage with the AI assistant seamlessly.
Additionally, visionOS 27 brings Spatial Reframing to the Photos app. This feature enables users to edit images by cropping, rotating subjects independently from backgrounds, and generating missing data around the edges, all through AI-powered tools.
Despite these advancements, the Vision Pro’s physical design remains a concern. The device’s weight and comfort issues have not been addressed in this update, leaving users to hope for hardware improvements in future iterations.
