Apple TV+ Announces ‘Brothers’ Comedy Series with McConaughey and Harrelson

Apple TV+ has unveiled its upcoming comedy series, ‘Brothers,’ featuring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson portraying fictionalized versions of themselves. The show is set to premiere on September 23, 2026, with the first two episodes, followed by weekly releases until November 4.

The narrative centers on McConaughey and Harrelson’s characters, whose enduring friendship faces upheaval upon discovering a long-hidden secret: they might be biological brothers. The plot unfolds as Harrelson’s character, following his daughter’s canceled wedding, relocates his family to McConaughey’s Austin ranch. There, McConaughey’s mother, Ma Mac, played by Holland Taylor, inadvertently reveals the family secret. As Harrelson’s character delves into uncovering the truth, McConaughey’s character contemplates a gubernatorial run in Texas, adding layers to the storyline.

Lee Eisenberg, known for his work on ‘The Office’ and ‘Jury Duty,’ serves as the showrunner for ‘Brothers.’ The series also features Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan, and Oona Yaffe in supporting roles.

Apple TV+ has been expanding its comedy portfolio with successful series like ‘The Studio,’ ‘Stick,’ and ‘Platonic.’ The addition of ‘Brothers’ underscores the platform’s commitment to delivering high-quality comedic content. The collaboration between McConaughey and Harrelson, both acclaimed actors with a history of on-screen chemistry, heightens anticipation for the series.

As ‘Brothers’ approaches its premiere, it will be interesting to see how the series balances humor with the exploration of complex themes such as family dynamics and personal identity. The involvement of seasoned actors and a reputable showrunner suggests that ‘Brothers’ could become a standout addition to Apple TV+’s lineup.
