Apple is reportedly preparing to launch updated versions of the Apple TV and HomePod mini, with releases anticipated this fall, likely around September or October. These new models are expected to feature faster processors to support the enhanced capabilities of Siri AI.
The upcoming Apple TV is rumored to incorporate the A17 Pro chip, the oldest chip compatible with Apple Intelligence. Additionally, it may include Apple’s N1 chip, enabling support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread technologies. While the device’s design is expected to remain consistent with the current model, there is speculation about a refreshed Siri Remote accompanying the release.
For the HomePod mini, the next iteration is anticipated to utilize an S9 chip or newer, similar to those found in recent Apple Watch models. Potential enhancements include improved sound quality, the integration of the N1 chip, an updated Ultra Wideband chip, and the introduction of a red color option. However, significant design changes are not expected.
The current Apple TV 4K was introduced in October 2022, and the HomePod mini debuted in October 2020. The forthcoming updates aim to modernize these devices, aligning them with the latest advancements in Apple’s ecosystem.
Both devices recently experienced price adjustments. In the United States, the Apple TV now starts at $199, an increase from its previous $129 price point, while the HomePod mini’s price has risen from $99 to $129.
