Apple has announced plans to reopen its store in the Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading, UK, this December, following a comprehensive redesign. The updated store will feature an experience room for product exploration, a dedicated Genius Bar, an Apple Pick Up area for online order collections, and complimentary Today at Apple sessions to help customers maximize their device usage.
In preparation for the Reading store’s reopening, Apple will close its Festival Place store in Basingstoke in November. Employees from the Basingstoke location will have the opportunity to transition to roles at the revamped Reading store or other Apple retail locations. Apple has expressed gratitude to the Basingstoke community for their support over the past 15 years and looks forward to continuing to serve customers through nearby stores, the Apple website, the Apple Store app, and authorized resellers and service providers across South East England.
Over the past 18 months, Apple has been actively updating its retail presence in the UK. The Regent Street store in London and the Lakeside shopping center store in Essex have both undergone significant renovations. Additionally, stores in Birmingham and Southampton are currently being upgraded. Globally, Apple has opened eleven new stores and relocated seventeen others to incorporate modern designs, including locations like Apple Miami WorldCenter and Apple Downtown Detroit.
Apple’s ongoing investment in its retail infrastructure underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing customer experiences. By modernizing existing stores and strategically relocating others, Apple aims to provide more engaging and accessible environments for customers to explore and purchase products, as well as receive support and participate in educational sessions.
