Apple Testing New iPad Pro Models and Redesigned MacBook Pro for 2027

Apple is reportedly in the process of testing four new iPad Pro models, maintaining the current 11-inch and 13-inch display sizes, with a planned release in spring 2027. These updates are expected to focus primarily on internal enhancements, including faster processors. Additionally, Apple has explored implementing a vapor chamber cooling system to improve sustained performance and mitigate overheating issues.

The last significant update to the iPad Pro lineup occurred in October 2025, introducing the M5 chip. More recently, Apple increased the starting price of the 11-inch model from $999 to $1,199, and the 13-inch model from $1,299 to $1,499. While there have been previous rumors about a foldable iPad Pro featuring an 18.8-inch display, the current models in testing suggest a more conventional refresh of the existing lineup.

In addition to the iPad Pro developments, Apple is preparing a redesigned entry-level MacBook Pro, code-named K104, which could debut as early as the first half of next year. This 14-inch laptop is expected to adopt a new design consistent with upcoming higher-end MacBooks that are anticipated to feature touch screens and are slated for release between the end of this year and early next year.

Apple had previously completed work on a refreshed entry-level MacBook Pro, code-named J804, planned for release this year with the current design and a new base M6 chip. However, the company is now focusing on the K104 model for a potential launch in the first half of next year.

Furthermore, Apple aims to introduce the M7 processor as early as the first half of 2027, accelerating the transition from the forthcoming M6 generation. This expedited rollout is reportedly intended to better support more demanding artificial intelligence workloads.

It’s important to note that ongoing memory and chip shortages could potentially disrupt Apple’s current product roadmap. However, if the company remains on schedule, the new iPad Pro models and redesigned entry-level MacBook Pro would contribute to what is already rumored to be Apple’s most significant product year in 2027.

These developments underscore Apple’s commitment to continuous innovation and its responsiveness to evolving consumer demands. The anticipated enhancements in processing power and design reflect the company’s focus on delivering high-performance devices capable of handling increasingly complex tasks, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence. As the tech industry continues to advance rapidly, Apple’s proactive approach positions it to remain a leader in the market.
