Apple Launches ‘Apple Upgrade’ Leasing Program for iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch

Apple has introduced ‘Apple Upgrade,’ a new leasing program that allows consumers to lease iPhones, Macs, iPads, and Apple Watches. This initiative replaces the previous iPhone Upgrade Program and offers flexible leasing terms for a broader range of Apple products.

Under the Apple Upgrade program, customers can lease iPhones and Apple Watches for 12 or 24 months, while Macs and iPads are available for 24 or 36 months. Monthly payments vary depending on the device and lease term. For instance, leasing an iPhone 17e starts at $17.99 per month, an Apple Watch Series 11 at $11.99 per month, and a MacBook Air at $24.99 per month. These payments are spread over the chosen lease period, providing an alternative to outright purchases.

At the end of the lease term, participants have several options: they can return the device, upgrade to a newer model, or purchase the device by paying a predetermined fee. This flexibility allows users to stay current with Apple’s latest technology without the commitment of full ownership.

It’s important to note that the Apple Upgrade program does not include AppleCare+ coverage in the monthly payments. Customers seeking device protection will need to purchase AppleCare+ separately. Additionally, certain entry-level devices, such as the base iPad and MacBook Neo, are excluded from this program.

Apple has partnered with Klarna, a Swedish financial services company, to manage the financing aspects of the Apple Upgrade program. This collaboration aims to streamline the leasing process and offer competitive financing options to consumers.

By expanding its leasing options beyond iPhones, Apple is adapting to changing consumer preferences and the growing demand for flexible payment plans. This move not only makes Apple’s premium products more accessible but also aligns with the broader industry trend towards subscription-based models. As technology continues to evolve rapidly, programs like Apple Upgrade provide consumers with the opportunity to experience the latest innovations without the financial burden of outright purchases.
