Anthropic Extends Free Access to Claude Fable 5 Until July 19

Anthropic has announced an extension of its promotional access to Claude Fable 5, allowing eligible paid subscribers to utilize the company’s latest AI model at no additional cost until July 19, 2026. This offer, initially set to conclude earlier, now provides users with additional time to explore Fable 5’s capabilities.

The extended access is available to subscribers of Claude Pro, Max, and Team plans, as well as premium seats on qualifying seat-based Enterprise plans. Notably, free-plan users, standard Enterprise seats, usage-based Enterprise customers, and API users are excluded from this promotion. During this period, subscribers can allocate their weekly usage allowance towards Fable 5, though it’s important to note that Fable 5 may consume this allowance more rapidly than other models.

To access Fable 5, eligible users can select the model through the picker in Claude’s web, desktop, and mobile applications. No activation process, opt-in button, or promotional code is required. However, users should ensure they have the latest versions of Claude Code (version 4.6 or later) and Claude Cowork to utilize the model. Enterprise administrators have the option to control the visibility of Fable 5 in managed Claude Code deployments, so users may need to consult their organization’s administrator if the model is not accessible.

Once a user reaches the Fable 5 portion of their weekly usage allowance, they have two options: switch to another Claude model to continue using any remaining plan quota or continue using Fable 5 with usage credits, which are billed separately from the subscription. This extension offers a valuable opportunity for security teams, developers, and enterprise users to evaluate Fable 5 for tasks such as code analysis, documentation, research workflows, and automation. However, organizations should monitor their consumption closely, as the promotion does not alter existing quota restrictions.

After July 19, 2026, Claude Fable 5 will no longer be included within weekly subscription limits. Users wishing to continue utilizing the model will need to purchase usage credits, while API access will remain billed at Anthropic’s standard rates throughout the promotion.

Extending the promotional access to Claude Fable 5 underscores Anthropic’s commitment to providing users with ample time to assess and integrate their latest AI advancements into various workflows. This move not only facilitates a deeper understanding of Fable 5’s capabilities but also allows organizations to make informed decisions regarding its adoption. As AI models continue to evolve, such opportunities are crucial for users to stay ahead in leveraging cutting-edge technologies effectively.
