After nearly two years of anticipation, Anker’s Eufy brand has officially released its first tracker compatible with Android’s Find Hub network: the SmartTrack Card E40, priced at $34.99. This launch marks a significant milestone for Eufy, which initially announced its entry into the Android tracking ecosystem in 2024 but faced multiple delays before bringing the product to market.
The SmartTrack Card E40 is designed with a slim profile, measuring just 0.07 inches (1.7mm) in thickness, making it ideal for slipping into wallets or other narrow spaces. It features wireless charging capabilities, allowing users to conveniently recharge its 140 mAh battery. Eufy claims that a single charge provides up to five months of battery life. Additionally, the device includes an 80dB alarm to assist in locating misplaced items.
In practical use, the SmartTrack Card E40 integrates seamlessly with Android’s Find Hub network. Pairing with devices like the Pixel 10 is notably swift, enhancing user experience. Its thin design positions it competitively against other trackers such as those from Pebblebee and Nomad’s Tracking Card Air. However, it’s worth noting that while the E40 boasts a sleek form factor, some competitors offer longer battery life, presenting a trade-off for consumers to consider.
Currently, the SmartTrack Card E40 supports a double-tap gesture on its button to locate a paired smartphone, but this feature is exclusive to iOS devices at launch. Eufy has indicated that support for this functionality on Android devices is forthcoming. The tracker operates solely via Bluetooth on both Android and iOS platforms, lacking Ultra-Wideband (UWB) capabilities found in devices like Apple’s AirTag or the Moto Tag 2.
Users should be aware that the SmartTrack Card E40 is designed to work with either Google’s Find Hub or Apple’s Find My network, depending on the initial pairing. To switch between these networks, a factory reset of the device is required.
The SmartTrack Card E40 is currently available for purchase on Eufy’s official website, with plans to expand availability to Amazon in the near future.
The release of the SmartTrack Card E40 underscores the growing trend of dual-network support in tracking devices, offering consumers greater flexibility across different ecosystems. As the market for such devices becomes increasingly competitive, features like battery longevity, connectivity options, and cross-platform compatibility will play pivotal roles in influencing consumer choices.
