Anker has unveiled its new MindBase AI home hub, designed to serve as both a smart home controller compatible with Matter-enabled devices and a network-attached storage (NAS) system. It features an AI Core compute card and an on-device AI agent called TrueSmart that works without needing cloud connectivity. Alongside MindBase, Anker introduced several new security products under its Eufy lineup. This marks a major shift toward local-first AI and enhanced privacy in the smart home space.
What MindBase Offers
MindBase is built with compatibility for nearly 100 Anker products as well as third-party smart devices that support the Matter protocol. It also works alongside HomeKit, enabling tighter integration into existing smart home setups. As a NAS, it supports up to 48TB of local storage for storing files, photos, and videos directly within the home—no cloud-required.
Security features are core to MindBase’s vision. On-device AI evaluates trigger events in real time, assessing risk and responding through methods like lighting, verbal warnings, or more direct deterrents. The system also includes a radar sensor capable of detecting strangers from up to 15 meters away, allowing it to monitor a property’s perimeter.
New Security Products: Cameras, Doorbells & Sensors
Alongside the hub, Anker introduced a range of new Eufy-branded devices that expand its smart security portfolio:
- Video Doorbell S4: This wired model combines a doorbell and camera, offering a 9-megapixel lens that records at 3K resolution and delivers a 180-degree field of view. It’s scheduled to ship in late September and priced at $300.
- Window Camera E10: An interior window camera ideal for rentals, featuring a 25-degree adjustable tilt, anti-glare optics, and 2.5K resolution. It’s expected later this year at a $70 price point.
- Fall Detection Sensor: A non-wearable, wall-mounted mmWave radar sensor that detects falls without using a camera. It includes two-way talk for emergencies. Pricing and availability haven’t been specified yet.
- NVR Security System E50: This package includes an 8-channel network video recorder plus four dual-lens cameras. Each unit combines a wide-angle 2K bullet lens with a motorized 4K pan-tilt-zoom lens. It’s available now starting at $999.
Anker also plans a “MindBase Security Kit,” bundling several of these products—including a TrackLight Cam S1, the S4 Video Doorbell, and a Smart Security Shield sensor—for those looking for comprehensive coverage.
Pricing & Availability
The E50 system is already on the market. The Video Doorbell S4 will be released late September for $300. The E10 window camera is expected out later this year at $70. MindBase itself and the Fall Detection Sensor are confirmed to be coming, but specific launch dates and pricing details are still under wraps.
By designing both the hub and associated devices with on-device AI and radar tech, Anker is clearly leaning into privacy-focused functionality. This approach reduces dependence on cloud services, minimizes latency, and gives users more control over their data.
In a smart home market crowded with cloud-dependent devices, MindBase and its ecosystem could stand out by offering robust local AI, strong privacy protections, and smaller dependencies on internet connectivity.
