Apple is reportedly developing larger display panels for its upcoming 2027 iPhone lineup, coinciding with the device’s 20th anniversary. According to a Chinese leaker, the company is testing two new screen sizes: approximately 6.4 inches for the iPhone 20 Pro and around 7 inches for the iPhone 20 Pro Max. These sizes represent a modest increase from the current 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays found in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models.
The new displays are expected to maintain the existing aspect ratio while introducing an all-new borderless design with curves on all four edges. This design evolution aligns with previous reports suggesting that the 2027 iPhones will feature edge-to-edge displays with curved glass on all sides, creating a nearly borderless visual effect.
In addition to the larger, borderless displays, the 20th anniversary iPhone models are anticipated to incorporate several advanced technologies. These include under-display Face ID, a custom Apple image sensor, haptic buttons, the A21 chip, higher bandwidth memory, and a pure silicon battery.
