Samsung has announced an extended support period for its latest smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, promising five years of Wear OS updates. This marks an increase from the previous four-year update cycle, positioning Samsung ahead of competitors like Google’s Pixel Watch series, which offers three years of updates.

Both the Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2 come equipped with Wear OS 7, making them the first devices to feature this version out of the box. The Galaxy Watch 9 is priced starting at $379, while the Ultra 2, boasting an 800 mAh battery, is available for $699. Pre-orders for both models are currently open.
