Apple has updated its Sports app to include additional soccer leagues from Asia and Europe, enhancing its coverage for fans worldwide. The newly supported leagues are:
- Belgian Pro League (Belgium)
- Superliga (Denmark)
- Eredivisie (Netherlands)
- J1 League (Japan)
- Ekstraklasa (Poland)
- Scottish Premiership (Scotland)
- Swiss Super League (Switzerland)
In addition to expanding league coverage, the app now offers formation views across most soccer leagues, allowing users to see starting lineups for matches more easily.
Since its launch in February 2024, the Apple Sports app has progressively broadened its reach and features. Initially available in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., it expanded to Europe and Mexico, and by February 2026, it was accessible in 80 countries, including regions in the Caribbean and Latin America. The app provides real-time scores, statistics, standings, and more for various sports leagues and competitions.
Earlier updates have introduced support for major events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup, allowing fans to follow their favorite national teams and view tournament groupings. The app has also incorporated features such as weather conditions for F1 Grand Prix races and widgets for both the iPhone’s Home Screen and CarPlay, enhancing user experience.
With the addition of these new soccer leagues and formation views, Apple continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing comprehensive sports coverage. This expansion not only caters to a broader audience but also enriches the app’s functionality, making it a more valuable resource for soccer enthusiasts globally.
