Meade’s tenure at Apple spans over 15 years, beginning in 2010 as an iPad manager. He later transitioned to overseeing program management for the iPhone in 2012. By 2017, Meade had joined the Vision Products Group, and in 2019, he assumed leadership of hardware engineering for the Vision Pro. His recent responsibilities included overseeing the development of AI-powered smart glasses designed to compete with products like Meta’s Ray-Bans, as well as leading teams working on future augmented reality glasses.
OpenAI’s strategy of attracting top-tier talent from Apple is evident. The company has previously brought on board notable Apple alumni such as Jony Ive, Tang Tan, and Evans Hankey.
