Walmart Launches $34.87 Onn Outdoor Camera with Google Home Compatibility

Walmart Introduces Affordable Onn Outdoor Camera with Google Home Integration

Walmart has expanded its Onn product line by introducing the Onn Outdoor Camera Plug-in, a wired outdoor security camera priced at $34.87. This new addition is part of Google’s Gemini built-in program, ensuring seamless integration with the Google Home ecosystem.

The Onn Outdoor Camera features a straightforward design with a flexible arm, allowing for easy positioning. It offers full-color night vision and includes built-in spotlights to enhance visibility in low-light conditions. The camera connects via a built-in cable that attaches to a longer USB-C cable, maintaining its weatherproof integrity—a design reminiscent of certain Wyze outdoor cameras.

With 1080p resolution, the camera integrates directly with the Google Home app, facilitating setup and management. Users can access cloud storage through Google Home Premium, which is essential for features beyond live viewing, as the camera lacks local storage. Subscribing to Google Home Premium unlocks cloud-based event recording, Gemini-powered video descriptions, and advanced camera event automations. Without a subscription, users receive three hours of snapshot history, which is automatically deleted after recording. Google Home Premium is available for $10 per month and is included in the Google One AI Pro plan, which also offers 5TB of cloud storage for Drive, Gmail, and Photos, along with YouTube Premium Lite, Google Health Premium, and increased Gemini usage limits.

The Onn Outdoor Camera is currently available for purchase both online and in Walmart stores. This release follows Walmart’s previous launches of the Onn Indoor Camera and Wired Doorbell, priced at approximately $23 and $45, respectively. These products have been well-received for their affordability and integration with Google Home.

In October 2025, Google announced the expansion of its Gemini features to third-party brands, starting with Walmart’s Onn cameras. This collaboration aims to provide Nest-level features at more accessible price points. The Onn Indoor Camera Wired, for instance, offers full Google Home integration and features comparable to Nest cameras, all for less than 25% of the price.

However, some users have reported issues with Walmart’s Google Home-integrated cameras. In October 2025, several users experienced problems accessing the settings menu, encountering errors such as Couldn’t connect. While live feeds and recordings remained unaffected, the settings menu was unusable for some. Google acknowledged the issue and confirmed that it had been resolved.

Despite these challenges, Walmart’s Onn cameras have been praised for their affordability and integration with Google Home. In December 2025, the Onn Indoor Wired Camera was available for as low as $10 during sales events, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers seeking smart home security solutions.

The introduction of the Onn Outdoor Camera further solidifies Walmart’s commitment to providing cost-effective smart home devices that integrate seamlessly with Google’s ecosystem. As the smart home market continues to grow, such collaborations between major retailers and tech companies are likely to become more prevalent, offering consumers a wider range of options to enhance their home security and automation systems.
