XREAL has announced that its highly anticipated Aura XR glasses will be launching this fall, with reservations now open. The Aura glasses, powered by Android XR, offer a mixed reality experience by combining the form factor of traditional eyewear with the functionality of a dedicated headset. Unlike conventional VR devices that rely on camera feeds for passthrough, Aura utilizes optical passthrough through glass lenses, providing a more natural view of the real world.
At the recent Augmented World Expo (AWE), XREAL confirmed that the Aura glasses will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, and Japan, with European markets to follow shortly thereafter. Interested customers can secure their device by placing a $99 reservation deposit, which grants a $199 credit toward the final purchase price, effectively offering a $100 discount. Additionally, a $299 reservation option is available for the first 2,000 customers, featuring numbered hardware and guaranteed launch-day delivery.
