WhatsApp is currently testing a redesign of its chat bubbles on iOS, introducing a more rounded appearance that aligns with the platform’s recent visual updates. This change follows the broader rollout of the Liquid Glass design, which began reaching users a couple of months ago.
The new chat bubbles feature significantly more rounded corners, offering a softer and more modern look. This design is reminiscent of the bubble style used in iMessage, providing a familiar aesthetic for iPhone users. Additionally, media and link previews within chats have been updated; the green outline previously surrounding these elements has been removed, resulting in a cleaner and more integrated presentation.
Currently, this redesign is available to select users participating in WhatsApp’s TestFlight beta program. There is no official timeline for when these changes will be implemented for all iOS users.
WhatsApp’s ongoing visual enhancements reflect its commitment to providing a cohesive and user-friendly experience. By adopting design elements familiar to iOS users, the platform aims to improve usability and maintain its competitive edge in the messaging app market. Users can anticipate further refinements as WhatsApp continues to evolve its interface.
