Walmart Finalizes Acquisition of Streaming Ad Platform Vibe.co

Walmart has officially completed its acquisition of Vibe.co, a self-service streaming TV advertising platform. This strategic move integrates Vibe.co into Walmart Connect, the retailer’s connected TV advertising division.

Vibe.co specializes in enabling small and medium-sized businesses to launch streaming TV campaigns across various publishers. By merging Vibe.co’s capabilities with Walmart Connect, Walmart aims to expand its connected TV advertising business and enhance its ability to reach customers through streaming platforms.

Ryan Mayward, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Walmart Connect, stated that Vibe.co has developed an exceptional platform that simplifies streaming TV advertising for businesses of all sizes. He emphasized that the combined efforts will help advertisers connect with customers more seamlessly across streaming, shopping, and the broader commerce journey, while making advertising more measurable, effective, and accessible.

In 2024, Walmart made a significant acquisition by purchasing TV manufacturer Vizio for $2.3 billion to strengthen its advertising business. The addition of Vibe.co further underscores Walmart’s commitment to expanding its presence in the advertising sector, particularly within the connected TV space.

By integrating Vibe.co’s platform, Walmart Connect is poised to offer advertisers a more comprehensive suite of tools to engage with consumers through streaming services. This acquisition reflects the growing importance of connected TV advertising as a channel for reaching audiences in an increasingly digital and streaming-focused media landscape.
