TikTok Launches ‘Pro Events’ App to Boost Engagement for Cultural Milestones Like FIFA World Cup

TikTok Unveils ‘TikTok Pro Events’ App to Enhance Fan Engagement During Cultural Milestones

TikTok has introduced a new standalone application in the United States named ‘TikTok Pro Events,’ designed to enrich user engagement during significant cultural events, such as the upcoming FIFA World Cup. This innovative platform enables users to connect with fellow enthusiasts, explore trending content, and access curated feeds from creators.

Aimed at users aged 18 and above, TikTok Pro Events offers a unique reward system where participants can earn Stars by engaging in various fan-centric activities within the app. These activities include searching for trending hashtags, visiting dedicated event hubs, and sharing content. Accumulated Stars can be redeemed for exclusive benefits, such as official FIFA World Cup merchandise available through an in-app redemption store, TikTok Shop coupons, or the opportunity to direct TikTok-funded charitable donations in partnership with Feeding America.

By launching a dedicated application for global cultural events, TikTok aims to capture user attention more effectively while providing creators and advertisers with access to a more targeted audience. This strategic move also opens new revenue streams for TikTok through sponsorships, partnerships, creator-led marketing initiatives, and advertising opportunities.

Users can access the FIFA World Cup 2026 hubs within the main TikTok app by searching for FIFA World Cup. These hubs are powered by TikTok GamePlan, a suite of products designed to assist sports teams, leagues, and broadcasters in increasing content discovery and deepening fan engagement. Within these hubs, users can discover content, connect with creators, and view broadcaster highlights from the tournament.

TikTok Pro Events is available for download via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in the U.S.

This initiative marks another step in TikTok’s evolution beyond its origins as a social media and entertainment platform. The company has been expanding its focus to include cultural events, aiming to become a comprehensive platform for user engagement. Recently, TikTok launched TikTok GO, a feature that allows users to discover and book hotels, attractions, and experiences directly within the app. This development positions TikTok as a one-stop platform where viral travel content can drive bookings and revenue, systematically converting its discovery engine into a transaction layer that enhances user retention and opens new revenue streams.
