Qualcomm’s New Snapdragon Flagship CPU Hits 5 GHz with Breakthrough Cache Design

Qualcomm is pulling back the curtain on its next-gen Snapdragon flagship platform ahead of Snapdragon Summit 2026, revealing that the chip will feature a new CPU codenamed Oryon capable of reaching a peak clock speed of 5 GHz. This marks a noticeable jump over its most recent designs, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 topping out at 4.74 GHz and its predecessor at 4.47 GHz.
