Apple has initiated legal action against OpenAI, accusing the company of systematically recruiting its employees to gain access to proprietary information. In response, OpenAI’s letter focuses on peripheral issues, such as a misdirected email from Apple’s legal team, rather than confronting the substantive claims of trade secret misappropriation.
In the letter, OpenAI asserts that former Apple employee Chang Liu, now part of OpenAI, attempted to return confidential Apple documents but was allegedly ignored by Apple. This narrative appears to shift the blame back onto Apple, suggesting negligence on their part.
Furthermore, OpenAI introduces an unrelated claim of racism, seemingly to divert attention from the primary allegations. This tactic raises questions about the company’s approach to addressing serious legal accusations.
By sidestepping the central issues and focusing on tangential matters, OpenAI’s response may be perceived as evasive. This strategy could potentially undermine its credibility in the ongoing legal battle with Apple.
