Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition Launches on Apple Arcade August 6

Apple has announced that Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition will be available on Apple Arcade starting August 6. This latest installment in the Madden franchise is tailored specifically for Apple Arcade, featuring a season-based structure and up-to-date NFL rosters.

The game offers a comprehensive Madden experience without any advertisements or in-app purchases. Players can engage in both Franchise and Quick Play modes, with player ratings reflecting real-life NFL performances. In Franchise mode, users assume the role of a general manager, navigating their team through dynamic storylines, maintaining fan support, and striving for a championship title. The game supports controllers across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV platforms.

In addition to Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition, Apple Arcade is expanding its sports game offerings. Retro Bowl College+ is set to launch on August 6, allowing players to manage one of 250 college football programs in a pixel-art style reminiscent of the original Retro Bowl.

On September 3, NFL Retro Bowl ’27 will introduce a new Gauntlet Mode. In this mode, players start with limited resources and aim to achieve 15 consecutive wins to top the leaderboard. They can choose between easier matchups or riskier ones that offer real NFL players and perks as rewards. Progress is retained between runs, even after a loss, culminating in a final showdown against a rival team.

Existing sports titles on Apple Arcade are also receiving significant updates. NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition now features Tyrese Maxey as a new Paragon player and has added the 2016-2024 era to its Association mode. PGA TOUR Pro Golf has introduced a new course, Bear’s Best Atlanta. Starting July 16, NFL Retro Bowl ’26 will roll out Historic Super Bowl challenges, allowing players to relive some of the league’s most memorable championship games.

Furthermore, Apple has highlighted several Arcade games that can now be sampled on the App Store without a subscription. These include PowerWash Simulator, Mini Motorways, Cooking Mama: Cuisine!, and Play-Doh World.

Apple Arcade is a subscription service offering access to a vast library of games across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. All games are free from ads and in-app purchases. In the U.S., the service is priced at $6.99 per month and is also included in all Apple One plans. Users can access Apple Arcade through the App Store and the Apple Games app.

The addition of Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition and other sports titles underscores Apple’s commitment to enhancing its gaming platform with high-quality, engaging content. This move not only caters to sports enthusiasts but also broadens the appeal of Apple Arcade to a wider audience, reinforcing its position in the competitive gaming subscription market.
