Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are beginning to arrive today for pre-orders placed earlier this week, as pre-order deliveries roll out globally. For those who didn’t pre-order, online wait times are growing: Pro Max models across all colors and storage options are now estimated at 3-4 weeks for regular delivery and Pro models at 2-3 weeks in the U.S. Most models are seeing shortages.
But there’s still a chance to snag one immediately via Apple Store pickup at select locations—including much of the U.S., Canada, and several international markets. Even though Apple’s online stores haven’t fully updated pickup availability, same-day pickup is listed at many brick-and-mortar stores, though options vary by ZIP code and store inventory.
Where Same-Day Pickup Is Live
Besides U.S. and Canadian Apple Stores, same-day pickup is reportedly available in several other countries: the U.K. sees all Pro and Pro Max models shipping into early October, yet many stores there are offering same-day pickup depending on the store. Australia, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Türkiye, and the UAE are also among the markets providing this option.
How to Order for Pickup & Things to Know
To order for in-store pickup: add the device to your bag on Apple.com or via the Apple Store app, choose “I’ll pick it up,” enter your ZIP or postal code, then select an Apple Store location and available pickup date with a 15-minute check-in slot. You’ll pay online ahead of pickup. Don’t forget to bring a government photo ID and your order number.
Walk-ins may also be possible at stores that have stock, but the availability is unpredictable. Stores might also place walk-in customers in a separate queue compared to those who reserved ahead.
Pricing for the new models has also shifted: the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, and the Pro Max at $1,299. That’s a $100 increase compared to the previous generation. Storage options range up to 2TB, which for the Pro model marks the first time that tier is available in the smaller size.
Features across both phones include an OLED Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, the Dynamic Island, the A20 Pro chip, 5-G support, and a 48MP Pro Fusion camera system. Four color choices—Burgundy, Glacier Blue, Silver, and Black—are available for both models.
These developments follow a pre-order period that kicked off on Saturday, September 12. As shipments arrive today, many customers are already receiving their new devices.
Analytically, this availability for same-day pickup suggests Apple anticipated demand softer than in past launch cycles, especially for the Pro Max. The online wait periods and localized inventory suggest a shift in buyer behavior—either hesitancy over higher pricing or shifting priorities in what features matter in a flagship phone. What to watch now: which configurations get restocked quickly, how rapidly wait times shrink for Pro variants, and whether demand strengthens or continues to lag.
