Google Raises Prices Across Nearly All Nest Cams & Doorbells

Google has announced price increases across almost its entire Nest smart home camera and doorbell lineup, effective immediately at the Google Store. These changes mark the latest in a series of product price adjustments following earlier hikes to the Google TV Streamer. Most Nest devices will now cost $20–30 more, representing roughly an 11% increase for many models.

New Prices by Model

The updated pricing for key Nest cameras and doorbells in the United States is as follows:

  • Nest Cam (battery; outdoor or indoor): now $199.99, up from $179.99.
  • Nest Cam Outdoor (wired, 2nd generation): now $199.99, up from $149.99.
  • Nest Cam Indoor (wired, 3rd generation): now $129.99, up from $99.99.
  • Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd generation): now $199.99, up from $179.99.
  • Nest Doorbell (battery): also now $199.99, up from $179.99.

The one product spared from this round of increases is the Nest Cam with Floodlight bundle, which retains its price of $279.99. Device bundles and higher-end features like the floodlight seem to have buffered that particular device from the price shift.

Broader Impact and Purchase Window

Other Nest and Google smart home items—including the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen), the Nest Thermostat, the 2nd-generation Nest Hub, and Nest Home Speakers—will continue at their current prices for now, remaining untouched by this adjustment. Despite the update at the Google Store, many third-party retailers still list the older, pre-increase pricing, meaning customers may still find deals before the new pricing takes full hold.

One such deal is on the Nest Cam Indoor (wired, 3rd generation) in the color “Berry,” which is currently being offered on Amazon for about $85. That’s significantly lower than both its past and new official prices, though stock and availability are likely limited.

Google’s decision continues a broader trend of cost increases across its ecosystem. The recent jump in the Google TV Streamer price—$50 more than before, representing a 50% increase—is one example of how the company is recalibrating the cost of its hardware more broadly.

For consumers considering a new Nest camera or doorbell, the window to buy at the old pricing is narrowing. Those watching Nest bundles or accessories should check current pricing at multiple retailers to spot lingering discounts.

Why This Matters And What To Watch For:

This pricing shift signals continued hardware cost pressure at Google—not just for Nest but across smart-home devices. As components, shipping, and labor costs fluctuate globally, the firm may continue passing them onto customers. Prospective buyers should monitor prices closely and consider acting before rates go up further or limited-time deals expire.
