Gemini Voice Controls Now Available on Select TCL Google TVs

Google has begun rolling out an update that enables Gemini to adjust TV settings via voice commands on select TCL Google TV models. This feature allows users to modify settings such as brightness, volume, sound, and picture modes without navigating through menus.

Users can issue commands like “Set picture mode to Sport” or “Increase the bass.” Additionally, Gemini can troubleshoot issues based on user descriptions, such as “The screen is too dark” or “I can’t hear the dialogue clearly.” It can also optimize settings for specific content, for example, by saying, “It’s movie night—help make this feel like a cinematic experience.”

Currently, this functionality is exclusive to TCL models in the United States, specifically on select 2025 and 2026 models, including the QM9K, QM7L, RM7L, X11L, QM9L, QM8L, and RM9L. This exclusivity period is set for the first 60 days, after which other brands may receive the update. An Android 14 or higher operating system is required for this feature.

Integrating voice-controlled settings adjustments through Gemini enhances user convenience and accessibility, streamlining the viewing experience. As this feature expands to more devices, it could set a new standard for smart TV interactions.
