Apple’s Siri AI Settlement: What iPhone Owners Need to Know

Apple has agreed to a $250 million settlement to resolve a U.S. class action lawsuit concerning the delayed release of its enhanced Siri features powered by Apple Intelligence. This settlement could result in eligible iPhone users receiving up to $95 each.

In June 2024, Apple showcased new Siri capabilities designed to understand personal context, provide on-screen awareness, and offer deeper per-app controls. These features were prominently advertised across various platforms, including product presentations, the company’s website, and a television commercial featuring actor Bella Ramsey.

However, in March 2025, Apple announced a delay in launching the personalized version of Siri, leading to allegations of false advertising. The lawsuit claimed that consumers were misled into purchasing devices based on promised features that were not delivered as advertised.

Apple has since introduced several other Apple Intelligence features and stated that settling the lawsuit allows the company to focus on delivering innovative products and services to its users.

Eligibility for Settlement Claims

To qualify for a claim, individuals must reside in the United States and have purchased one of the following iPhone models between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025:

  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 16
  • iPhone 16e
  • iPhone 16 Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max

While physical possession of the device may not be necessary, claimants might need to provide proof of purchase or device serial numbers. Detailed requirements will be specified on the forthcoming settlement website.

Claim Submission and Payout Details

Each eligible claimant is set to receive a per-device payment of $25. This amount could increase up to $95 per device if the total number of claims is lower than anticipated.

The California court overseeing the case recently held a preliminary approval hearing for the settlement. A ruling has not yet been issued, and it may take several months before eligible customers can begin submitting claims. Payouts are unlikely to commence until late this year or early next year, pending final approval of the settlement. No action is required from eligible customers at this time.

Launch of Enhanced Siri Features

At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2026, Apple announced the launch of “Siri AI,” the enhanced version of its voice assistant. This revamped Siri is currently available for testing on the iOS 27 developer beta, with a public beta expected to follow this month. The official release of iOS 27 is anticipated in September, at which point “Siri AI” will be accessible to all users with an iPhone 15 Pro or newer model.

This settlement underscores the importance of transparent communication between tech companies and consumers regarding product features and release timelines. As Apple moves forward with the rollout of “Siri AI,” it will be crucial for the company to manage user expectations effectively and ensure timely delivery of promised functionalities.
